On the topic of “old AF”….When I was a younger man of about 40, I had my son join me on my morning run because he had just started middle school and thought he should lose some weight.
While we were running, I stumbled stepping up a curb and skinned my palms. My son asked, “Are you OK, Dad? It’s dangerous when old people fall!”
D’oh!!!
I guess my point is that everyone is old AF to someone.
Anyway, I always enjoy your posts and loved your book, which I just finished. Your work matters!
I would totally scream inside and text my husband if I saw you. And then I would hug you because I LOVED your book. I gave it to my 24 year old daughter who has trouble making friends and hates to read (how can she be my daughter?) and said, "Just try the first chapter...you will feel seen." So far, no, but someday she will pick it up out of desperation if her phone dies and will love it, too.
I love your writing so much and have missed you desperately.
As a 55-year old who recently quit teaching to write more + travel as a PA at comic cons, all of this resonates: the “You don’t look THAT OLD” and the delighting over glamorous people looking regular and the gladness for no Internet during college years, and of course the crying…
I was supposed to be reading this only for as long as I was eating my lunch (red cabbage, chicken and avocado if you're asking) but I couldn't stop and now I have had my dinner, an old-fashioned, and put myself to bed.
Oh I've missed your writing! I had things to do but couldn't stop reading and now wanted to let you know before I get back to the list of things-I-must-do. Also, can I please be in your next play/short film?
I think you've already made it. Pretty sure after we met I told someone that I fangirled you. :-D
Is it even worth the trouble when, at best, I’ll only have 10 years or so to be famous? Down side of starting late. Boo hoo me. Thanks for starting my day off with laughs and reading aloud to my poor spouse.
I'm literally in tears after every post. First of all this bookstore has become a fantasy-like place for me, that I will find being in London myself! Secondly, you're a brilliant, brilliant writer and I'm so thankful for everything you write!
Oooooooh. Love. Love, love, love. I'm so mesmerized by this beautiful adventure I've just been on I don't have words at the moment beyond: love. So there you have it!
Welcome back Jess, we’ve missed you! 👏👏👏
Old AF is a compliment after a certain age. Like, hey! You made it!
very true!
I always enjoy the tension of not knowing how you’re going to tie lots of seemingly disparate stories together and then the thrill of it when you do!

If it's any consolation, I don't think you're normal at all. Abnormal AF.

Your character name will be described as "Brunette Woman Who Really Likes Chocolate" xx
I like that this is an important thing about this character.
But it sounds like a non-speaking part… 🤔😂
I’m glad you didn’t marry Kevin!
